last friday i headed off to nice to spend a couple days with friends there. it was wonderful to see dan (when i got the chance) and to travel with kelly grimes from CMC and her friend. excellent travel buddies. got some beautiful views of the city and partied in the big festival, long story short.
the last 3 days in rome have also been pretty wonderful. i found some nice folks to chum around with in the hostel, namely amanda from montreal, castelo from portugal, kerena from australia and paddy from portsmouth, UK. believe it or not, id say i saw everything i wanted to in rome. the place is simply COVERED in statues and pillared facades and beautiful churches and monuments that arent even on the map. i did a looooooot of walking.
now im in florence, where it is very cold. in my fleece, sweatshirt, snow jacket and snow gloves, i was still cold walking around today. i am also sick and travelling alone, and the people who run this hostel are netiher helpful nor too friendly, so the fun level is a liiiiiitle low, but i know i am having a rich experience.
gotta keep it quick, i think ill run. there is pizza out there that needs to be eaten.
