my gosh it is difficult to adjust to the french keyboqrd.

a quick entry before i head off for school (it is about 8:00 here, i have class at 9).

my classes are very interesting so far. two of them, phonetics and grammar, are with other american students, and so are much easier to keep up in, because the prof moves more at our pace. however, i signed up for as many integrated classes as i could - i have choir, accompaniment (dunno what that is yet, but its music!), actors and instruments in urban planning, paleoenvironment, and ultimate frisbee. all in french. so far, these classes are extremely difficult to understand. but i'll catch up. i have oceans of time.

conversation in general is slow and a bit awkward, but my family, the program directors and the occaisional other american student with whom i speak are all very patient.

i have been learning new songs on guitar, doing pushups, and playing with my little brother in my free time. i try to spend as much time as i can either exploring campus (which is actually quite small, i'm almost done...) or hanging out at home, if for no other reason than this family is awesome. long, relaxed, conversation over delicious and interesting meals (liver? purple potatoes? all sorts of cheese...) and lots of sleep to be had here. life is good.
